It is a collaboration that comes from Artesanias de Colombia initiative inviting us to support small goldsmiths communities around the country.
We work with the Afro-descendant jewelry community of Tumaco Nariño,
rescuing some symbols that represent them and that unites us in time through jewelry.
We have fused our braids as part of the language that has been present in the history of women and especially of African women in their hairstyles as forms of communication to escape in times of slavery. We have achieved soft and delicate pieces by integrating their ability to work the filigrane with the braided thread.
